Pharmacy Tech Assist

A pharmacy technician assistant works in a pharmacy, store or hospital. Pharmacy tech assistants work with pharmacists in preparing medication, processing prescription requests and ensuring proper labeling and medicine count of all prescription orders. Working as a pharmacy tech assistant provides those interested in a career as a pharmacist with the opportunity to work in the field prior to attending pharmaceutical school. There are no educational requirements to become a pharmacy tech assistant; however, numerous vocational schools offer short programs that prepare an individual to work in this field. Many pharmacy tech assistants do receive all of their training on the job.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job opportunities for pharmacy tech assistants will be excellent. A pharmacy tech assistant will earn $11 to $16 per hour depending on their skill and level of responsibilities.
